Double-crested Cormorant

Nikon D300, 500mm PF, 1/1250s, f5.6, iso800

It was early in the morning, the cormorants have had their breakfast and resting at their favorite treetop. They were preening and getting ready for their next hunt.

The morning sun helped to lit up the side of a cormorant while it was opening up its’ wings. It is always easier to work with morning sunlight rather than noon. Whenever situation is possible, I like to start my photo walk early. But this can be a luxury item for me at this stage.
