Northern Cardinal – Female

Nikon D300, 500mm PF, 1/800s, f6.3, iso640

I was able to get relatively close to this female Northern Cardinal. I was hiding behind the bushes shooting Tufted Titmouse. She came into my ‘radar’ and didn’t notice my present until I hit the camera shutter. It is always easier to get the shot when the objects come into the frame rather than approaching them. But the luck is not always on my side.
