Northern Cardinal – Female

Nikon D300, 500mm PF, 1/2000s, f5.6, iso400

While looking up Northern Cardinal info on All About Bird website, I learnt an interesting fact about them – Not many female North American songbirds sing, but the female Northern Cardinal does.

Despite they are small bird but their voice is bright and crisp. I can hear them from far away. Love the way they sing.

  1. I love their voices, too! Around here, they are usually my first greeters in the morning. They usually start singing just before it starts to get light. It’s a nice start to the day!
