Red Tailed Hawk

Nikon D300, 500mm PF, 1/2000, f6.3, iso400

On my way to Vischer Ferry Natural Preserved, I saw this Red Tailed Hawk perched on a tree branch. Initially I thought it was a juvenile Bald Eagle from far. Pulled over at the roadside and walked toward the tree branch. The hawk noticed my present immediately when I started walking toward him. I knew I had to stop at that moment and start shooting. It took off at the moment I started releasing the shuttle. Everything happened so fast that I couldn’t even clearly identify the bird id what I was shooting.
