Common Bluebottle

Nikon D300, SB800, Tamron 180, 1/250s, f10, iso320

Found this Common Bluebottle puddling near Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Singapore. Even though the name as Common Bluebottle, but I don’t see it commonly flying around. But I am glad that I have this in my butterfly collection.

Did some research on why butterfly puddles. Male butterfly puddles on the soil for absorbing the minerals and salts which will help to improve their reproductive success. Wiki
