Red Tailed Hawk

Nikon D300, 500mm PF, 1/160s, f8, iso1000

During last fall, I saw this hawk perching at a the nearby intersection couple times. Each time it will perched at different electric poles. Due to the heavy traffic, I wasn’t able to stop to photograph it. I could only sit in the car observing it’s beauty while waiting for my traffic light to turn green.

One day the hawk perched at an open field (slightly further away from the intersection). He might have found his lunch and getting ready to hunt. I parked my car and start photographing him. I really enjoyed observing this handsome Red Tailed Hawk.

PS: I have not seen him around after winter. The harsh weather might have chased him away. Sigh …
