Northern Flicker (Male)

Nikon D300, 500mm PF, 1/250s, f20, iso800

I was thrill when I saw this Northern Flicker perching on nearby tree and facing the sun. The sun light was able to bring out the color of the flicker. I was too focus on getting the photo and totally forgot about my camera setting. Camera was set on shutter priority @ 1/250s. I could have increase the shutter speed to avoid such small aperture.

But I am happy to have this Northern Flicker in my avian photo collection. Good start for new year.

Happy New Year to all.
